Time's Up!

Today is my last day to get things in order before going to the States! Why’s that? Tomorrow, a team from one of our churches in the States, New Life Christian Church in Morton, will be coming down to help us build a new church! We’re super excited to have them down here. Our destination is near Monte Alegre, a smaller town down the Amazon River where PAZ has a base. It will be my first time there, so I’m looking forward to our trip down the river. It has been super hot, which will make for some hard but fulfilling work!

For my trip to the States, I would like to see if anyone has a car available that I could borrow from around Saturday, August 15 to Wednesday, September 2. During those two and a half weeks I will be in Moline for about a week, then in the Peoria area for about a week. My grandparents live in Northern Illinois, so there will be a couple of trips there as well – but all local trips within norther/central Illinois, nothing major! If you can help, please click here to contact me.

We really covet your prayers over the next couple of weeks, as I will be traveling a lot and Ruth will be home alone! I’m really looking forward to building a new church and visiting the States, but the thought of leaving Ruth behind for a month is not a happy one. Let’s keep praying for her complete health and the health of the babies. Pray for me and all my travels as well, that I would have good health and great visits with friends and family. You are such a blessing to us! God bless! ??????????? ????????????

Congesso Music Download

We had such a wonderful Congresso da Paz last weekend. Along with playing on the worship team this year, I also filmed, edited and produced a highlight video for the amazing event! This video was played for tens of thousands of people in all the local PAZ Sunday services – 33 locations altogether! Now, without further chatter, here’s the Congresso video!!

Praise God for such a wonderful Congresso! It makes producing a highlight video much easier when so many great things happened! I had almost an hour of footage of lots of great moments, so I selected some of what I thought was best and got it down to 10 minutes. I continued to whittle away, moving different sections around, intersplicing the Prodigal Son drama with the responses of people until it felt tight. It was then that I could write the music to go along with what was happening in the sound track. I only had one afternoon to work on the music, so I was quite happy with how it turned out. I’m posting the track here for you to download and listen to. Enjoy!

What a Blast!

Some would say we enjoy our work!

What a thrill it was to participate on the worship team for the opening night of the 2009 Congresso da Paz! I just put up several great photos and a synopsis of the first night at the PAZ website, which you really should click here to read.

Since I played on the worship team, I handed my camera off to my father-in-law Jeff who made good use of his all-access-PAZ-director standing and went all over the stadium and field taking these great pictures (as well as the ones on the PAZ site). Tonight I will once again have a camera in hand as the amazing feature presentation will start. Keep praying!

Once the church's new building is completed, playing in front of 10,000 people at once will be a weekly occurance! Praise God for the great things happening here!

Some really, really loud piano

I just got back from the rehearsal and sound check for the opening night of Congresso da Paz 2009 and I can safely say that I have never played a piano as loud as I just did! That is until later on tonight, of course! :) We’re counting on your prayers to make this the greatest Congresso da Paz yet – we’re praying for over 2,000 people to come to Christ!

Even though it was super hot, everyone was excited to have finally arrived at the last day of the Congresso. As the band sound checked and warmed up, Forta – the coordinator behind the sets, dances and dramas – was busy with his crew fixing damage to the set caused by a storm two nights ago.

Here are a few pics – the next post I make should be after the Congresso!!

Anticipation Builds

The baby belly

The anticipation just keeps building around our house – right along with Ruth’s belly! She’s now halfway through her pregnancy and she looks like she 6 months through! Each and every day we thank God for the blessing of the twins and as November approaches, we just keep thinking of all the things we need to get done before then. Ruth has all kinds of projects lined up – at least I know she won’t be bored while I’m gone visiting the States! We are so very thankful for your prayers and support as we trust God for a perfect delivery and perfect health for Ruth.

But twin girls are just one of the births we’re anticipating. This weekend our church in Santarém is preparing for 2,000 people to be born again – yes!!! It’s the weekend of our annual Congresso da Paz, and we couldn’t be more ready. I have been asked to play piano on the worship team to open up this great event in the largest venue Santarém has to offer. What an amazing privilege and honor! We’re trusting God to grow our cell group and we’re praying hard that 2,000 people might come into the Kingdom – future leaders, pastors, missionaries and statesmen for the LORD!! Please pray with intensity for us in this time. I just wrote an article on the PAZ website with the specific prayer requests, so please click here to read more about the event. God bless!
